Bright Horizons
All the songs for Bright Horizons were written by me in 2026 and engineered by Al Heslop at Creative Sound Studio.
Why Bright Horizons? Well it’s kind of an ironic title, as you get older you tend to look back and maybe reflect on some events that have affected your life in one way or another. The catalyst for writing these songs was something as mundane as driving past someone’s house that I’d known some years ago but never seen since.
There are songs here about people I’ve known over the years and a few about films I’ve seen. I’ve been really lucky to work with some very talented people on these tunes, they are in no particular order:
Paul Taylor on Drums, always such pleasure to work with, a wonderfully creative musician and gentleman of the old school.
Kez Benford on Bass , who seemed to know exactly what I wanted on these songs ; we go back 25 years when we did gigs at South Hill Park together .
Ken Bannister on Guitar and Mandolin, my oldest mate and I doubt I would have done this without him, enormous talent and always self-deprecating.
Jo Greenwood, who I only met recently; fabulous voice and lovely to work with.
Al Heslop, I met Al 25 years ago when I was a partner in Parkside Studio with Damon Sawyer, a brilliant Guitarist, and genius sound engineer and producer.
